Main Street Albany follows the revitalization framework developed by the National Trust Main Street Program. The Main Street Four Point Approach helps to create a sustainable organization that functions as a revitalization leader for the community. These four committees operate within that framework. If you have a passion or interest in any of these areas, please contact the committee chair listed below. New volunteers are always welcome!
The Organization Committee provides guidance and direction on operations, fundraising and volunteers.

Projects: Volunteer recruitment, fundraising, reporting, administrative tasks

The Design Committee enhances the visual appearance of downtown through the arts, building rehabilitation, landscaping and streetscaping.

Projects: Alley activation, seasonal decorations, cleanup events, facade improvement, design standards

The Promotion Committee markets downtown and identifies it as a gathering place through special events.

Committee Chair: Tonya McCampbell
The Economic Vitality Committee develops long-term solutions to strengthen the economic base of downtown. This committee has absorbed the Albany Chamber of Commerce in order to avoid a duplication of efforts and volunteers.

Meetings: The Economic Vitality Committee holds Community Lunches for business owners and interested residents on the third Wednesday of the month at noon at Poppa's Family Restaurant. These are casual gatherings and open to anyone.
