Date: July 26, 2025
Time: 6:30 - 9:00 pm
Location: East side of the Courthouse Square
Main Street Albany is preparing for an old-school event on Saturday, July 26 (7/26) from 6:30-9:00 pm to celebrate the community. “726 Day is a throwback to the days when all Albany telephone landlines had 726 as the prefix. Our first time doing this last year was a blast! We hope to bring a little old-fashioned fun back to the square,” says Tonya McCampbell, Main Street Albany’s promotions chair.
The family-friendly event will run from 6:30-9:30 pm on July 26 on the east side of the square and feature activities like a pet look-alike contest, greased watermelon relay, watermelon eating contest, mullet/mustache/crazy hair contest, hula hoop contest, a new “chuck-a-chicken” rubber chicken throwing contest, and more. DJ B2 will be providing music, and food options will be available, including hot dogs from the Albany Lions Club, loaded teas from 3:16 Nutrition, cotton candy from Mad Hatter’s Treats, and classic fresh lemonade, limeade, and orangeade from the original Frontier Holidays recipe.
If you would like to participate as a business sponsor to help offset costs, please contact us at mainstreetalbany@gmail.com.
